I developed Klemtest(sometimes called Autotest), which Cisco uses to test their products.Klemtest is a complete system that lets Cisco sub contract manufacturing without having to worry about quality. The system will not allow product to ship that hasn't passed all of it's tests.Klemtest has several different parts:Klemspeak is a language that tells Klemtest what to do. It is designed to test up to 250 units simultaneously. Code can be changed without interrupting tests that are ongoing.Agen is a language similar to Klemspeak, put only does one process at a time. It has specialized instructions to do things like dynamic WEB reports, including graphs, as well as specialized instructions that can be easily added as needs arise. The complete system is administered with Agen scripts.Klembase is a high performance RDBMS. It is a highly distributed, high reliability(99.9999+%) database. It is collects over a million test records a day, as well as the supplier, vendor, date code, lot code, of every part on every higher end PCB that Cisco builds Of course, there are a lot of other pieces that are based on these tools that were developed. The use of specialized tools has minimized staff needs and made a large number(2000+) of machines scattered throughout the world manageable.
