    I worked as the only embedded software engineer at the startup, Diatherix/Arca Technology, a subsidiary of Eurofins. We performed product development focusing on class II medical diagnostic devices specializing in PCR.As a small ‘startup’, I not only got to work with hardware and software, but also work with closely with our chemistry team. However, because I was the only software engineer, I quickly learned to become a jack of all trades.- Interfaced with sensors and MCUs which managed a heat and time-sensitive system- Managed a Yocto (Linux) SBC ‘host’ system acting as the brains of the operation- Designed and implemented a QT GUI which would control the HW behavior- Performed data analytics and visualization to accelerate R&D development- Used computer vision, openCV, to orient and identify targets within a microarray (200+ targets)Biggest takeaway: The fundamentals of embedded systems. As a fresher and the only software member, my time at ARCA brutally grew my technical skills.
