Leads an operational team to achieve station goals and objectives. Senior Authorised Person for all plant & apparatus up to 400kV interconnected systems. Nominated as Safety Coordinator for controlling cross boundary safety precautions. Responsible for writing and implementing site safety rules and associated procedures. Energy manager who has implemented energy management systems that have gain ISO50001 accreditation. Responsible for training and mentoring operations technicians.Liaises with commercial stakeholders to allow work to be planned and executed in the most cost effective manner.

Drax Power Station

Working within the shift management team providing operational and technical support for the 24/7 operation of a 4000MW coal fired power station. Duties included frontline maintenance and diagnosis of defects across the whole plant, preparation of safety documents for plant and apparatus and training and auditing operations staff for carrying out duties designated under the safety rules.

Saltend Co-Generation, Hull

Upgrading as Shift Team Leader responsible for a small team, whose goal was the continuous and safe operation of a 1200MW CCGT plant within tight commercial and environmental constraints. Monitoring Gas Turbine and Heat Recovery Steam Generator efficiency using latest software and implementing corrective actions to maximise station output within environmental limits. Was Senior Authorised under Saltend Cogeneration Company Ltd safety rules to carry out the role of Senior Authorised Person on all plant and apparatus up to and including 275kV. Nominated to carry out the role of Control Person to establish and maintain safety precautions on interconnected systems and across ownership and control boundaries.Safety co-ordinator on major turbine outage, providing safety from the system to station and contract staff. Safety assessed work orders, planned safety cascade and set up isolated zones. Prepared permits, wrote new procedures for new working practices, prepared confined space safety plans and liaised with maintenance and contract staff to co-ordinate work activities to deliver the project goals.

Working within a small maintenance team responsible for the routine and breakdown maintenance of the Flue Gas Desuphurisation plant. Working on plant & apparatus in areas including absorbers, limestone preparation and waste water treatment.
