My primary duties include;- Surveying New Projects.- Handling and logging project enquiries.- Estimating and pricing.- Quote chasing.- Attending design meetings with prospective clients.- Production of CAD details for clients.- Upon securing new projects, attending the Pre-lets.- Prior to work commencing, producing a full summary of costs and updating final quote to ensure everybody knows what costs are/arent included.- Arranging material deliveries.- Allocating labour.- Creating job sheets/specs and prices for our tradesman.- Checking progress of works.- Final signing off of projects upon completion.Flat Roofing;- Very good knowledge of single ply roofing, particularly Sarnafil and Armourplan.- Good knowledge of liquid plasics, GRP, hot melt and bituminous felts.Cladding;- Very good knowledge of Corus Urban, Euroclad Veio, F/C profiled sheeting, Trapezoidal metal cladding (both insulated and non insulated).- Good knowledge of Zinc and Copper roofs.Metal Fabrications,- Competent with bespoke metal fabrications, from surveying requirements, CAD drawings, 3d Imagery, ordering etc.Long term desires to improve knowledge on all aspects of larger cladding contracts.

Started in December 2014 as the company's sole buyer, working primarily within the Pitched Slating and Tiling Dept.My primary duties included;- Working through site programs and entering each site's plot's roof ready dates into our plot tracker/calendar.- Placement of purchase orders for material/stock.- Communicating delivery information to the site teams.- Managing product lead times to limit/avoid production delays on the sites.- Negotiating buying prices with suppliers.- Working closely with suppliers to ensure service levels remained at a high level.- January 2017, working with an assistant to manage the increase in workload following company expansion.As the company's first out and out buyer, I had to evaluate and improve our procurement trends.In doing so, I have helped bring to good use, the company's large investment into new accounting, project costing and purchasing software.Following this, the software now handles all purchasing and invoicing tasks, which is working towards greater accuracy of project costing.Upon starting to experience supply driven lead times for materials, I had to find a way to gather and handle information on forthcoming material requirements.All sites were informed of the lead times and were asked fro long term programs.With well over 120 sites at the time, the sudden increase of information needed to be handled and prioritised suitably.I created the first version of our plot tracker (Forthcoming work), which helped manage the day to day ordering along with helping me stay one step ahead of the lengthy lead times.Leaning on my new assistants incredible understanding of Excel and it's Macro functions, we together developed the plot tracker to handle 99% of all of the information we receive for our now 150+ sites.Alongside buying, I was very often involved in surveying projects and estimating.I have since permanently moved into Estimating and Technical for our Flat Roofing/Cladding dept.

Started in January 2006 as a Warehouse/Yard Operative/Driver.Progressed to Trade Counter Salesman in late 2006.Then progressed to salesman in 2008.Undertook Leadership and Management training in 2011-2013.Became Assistant Manager in September 2013.Completed ILM in 2014.Left for Western Counties Roofing in December of 2014.During my time at SIG I gained nearly 9 years experience of working within the roofing industry and benefited from a multitude of training courses covering different areas of roofing. Working from the yard up, through sales, transport and operations, health and safety and accounting, gave me crucial experience and knowledge of the business as a whole.
