Was responsible for the total operation and bottom-line profit of six Van Meter Industrial (VMI) locations that comprise the Western Business Unit (WBU). Oversaw the annual budget and business planning process for the WBU, which posted a 261.7% growth in sales and 263.4% growth in gross profit from 2000 to 2008, with 2008 sales of $72 million and gross profit in excess of $16 million. The WBU was the most profitable division of VMI seven of last ten years, becoming VMI's largest business unit in 2002. Supervised four managers and seven product specialists of a team that exceeded 70 total employees. Developed and implemented business plans for two new VMI locations. Contributed to company-wide business planning by providing strategies, out-of-the-box ideas, and demonstrating the ability to quickly analyze complex situations and identify the critical elements in order to implement timely solutions.

Charged with the over-all operation of four locations in the WBU, which surpassed the Central Business Unit in net income for the first time in company history in the first quarter of 2000. Developed a business plan for acquiring a ten-county territory that Rockwell Automation ultimately implemented. Documented issues and corrective measures to improve the performance of the Material Acquisition and Control Department, a centralized function at VMI. This report became the foundation for an action plan that was successfully implemented.

Increased Rockwell Automation's sales over 25% by reorganizing the sales efforts of four independently-managed locations into a regional cluster. Implemented an MRO crib sales position that increased the sales of commodity products to existing customers by 50%. Supervised the conversion activities of a major end-user customer, increasing sales from $50,000 in 1998 to $250,000 in 1999.

Was the lead salesperson in a resident office with annual sales over $10.75 million. Managed successful account conversions through distribution at Evergreen Packaging, Borlog Systems, PMX Industries, Hage Manufacturing, Fleetguaard, and Cedarrapids, Inc. Directly managed the Rockwell Automation relationship with Rockwell Goss.

Responsible for 275% growth in accounts from 1986 to 1991. Established the Allen-Bradley standard in MCCs, industrial control products, and drives at IBP. Guided Inter-Motion, Inc. during the first five years of its existence and helped it achieve the Motion Control division's Systems Integrator of the year award in 1998.

Managed industrial accounts including IBP, AT&T, ConAgra and Kellogg's. Developed an OEM account that increased the sales of pressure switches by 700% and resulted in the Omaha office winning the 1985 People Who Make a Difference award. Developed a stocking distributor for programmable controllers and variable speed drives and assisted the distributor in creating a job description for its sales engineer.

Provided drafting, technical services, and engineering support on several national and international projects for the electrical power division as a co-op student while pursuing engineering degree.
