It is a rare event in one's professional life when the family of two of the most famous guys who ever lived entrusts you with their family name. Yet, that is the challenge that the Wright Family has bestowed upon my partners and me. In 2012, The Wright Family Foundation appointed our agency as the exclusive, global licensor for The Wright Brothers trademark. While the licensing side of our business is up and running, and we have about five accounts under management (including two large ones: Shinola in 2013-14, and Bremont Watches U.K. in 2014), we have embarked on a new mission to create our own line of The Wright Brothers branded products. Our first move is to raise funds to create the product line and open an online store, an official site for The Wright Brothers gear. Once we have the product line (aviation themed fashion and accessories, such as flight jackets, aviator sunglasses and watches, and travel bags, and also city bikes, which are central to the Wright brothers' Wings to Wheels story) in place, this will greatly enhance our ability to license the brand worldwide.
