“Dave…………you………….you……………you... are like freakishly good at solving problems!” It’s not every day that someone calls you “freakishly good” at something. I discovered; it is my superpower! Hello, I’m Dave Machovsky, founder and CEO at Mindset Innovations Consulting. So how did we get to this point? I was born and raised in a small South Dakota town. I found at a very young age I loved to figure out how things worked. Unpopular with my loving parents, many things in the house would get taken apart and put back together. As I grew older, this passion increased to much larger items such as cars. By 11 years old I had torn down my first engine and eventually I became old enough to race them. These experiences taught me invaluable lessons about problem-solving. I learned to think on my feet, adapt to unexpected challenges, and find innovative solutions under pressure. Problem-solving became a second nature. As I transitioned into adulthood, my passion for problem-solving led me to explore different industries and environments. I found myself drawn to roles that allowed me to apply my skills and make a meaningful impact. From production, supervisory, management, director of operations, and being president of a non-profit organization, I embraced every opportunity of these roles to solve complex problems and contribute to the growth of organizations. Okay, by this point you may be thinking, so how did we get to the consulting point? Just as I learned in my younger years, in order to win the race, you must lead it first. With my vast and varied experiences of leading people, I felt called to give back. I received my certifications in coaching, mentoring, and leadership. Furthermore, became a certified training within industry instructor (TWI). It was exceptionally hard to leave the corporate world. But I came across a quote: “If you think the price of success is too high, imagine getting the bill from regret.” I did not want that bill from regret later in life, wondering if I should have followed that calling by starting up this consulting & training business.Here we are.
