- Partnered with Procurement to reduce print vendor base from 27 down to 10 preferred vendors across the country. Instituted service level agreements to reduce costs and hold vendors accountable for service, quality and timeliness measures. - Transformed our business model by selecting a new enterprise collateral print on demand (POD) vendor through an RFP process and developing a new storefront operating system that allows Sales to customize and order their materials online. Moved much of our collateral onto static and variable content POD programs. We are saving over 50% off previous POD pricing ($675K savings in 2010).- Helped move all 14 WellPoint operating states from traditionally printed, stored and manually fulfilled pre-sale materials to a POD member enrollment kit. Established eDelivery options and moved approximately 20% of the entire business to eDelivery ($500K savings in 2010 alone).- Streamlined the forms ordering/production process. Developed new forms database to gain control over enterprise forms management and help drive standardization/consolidation opportunities. - Launching new web-based print/mail quoting engine that will revolutionize the way we do business by automating the end-to-end print buying process. Real time estimates based on historical job costs can be obtained in seconds, the entire bidding process is automated, and job specs/vendor information will automatically flow to purchasing requisitions. The system helps ensure we get the lowest contracted or bid pricing, and provides an expansive historical job database to generate and drive further cost savings initiatives.

- Consolidated nine separate Marketing Communications Departments (with state or regional responsibilities) into one centralized structure to support the entire Company. The new model consists of three Marketing Communications “Centers of Excellence” to support audience or segment-specific communications on an enterprise level, an enterprise eSolutions team and a centralized Print Production team. Managed a team of approximately 80 associates across multi-states.- Hired new team members, built/monitored departmental budgets to support the new team, and realized a 20% reduction in staffing through the new model.- Implemented consistent MAC and software standards, established shared prepress server, designed uniform online creative request form, developed common enterprise form numbering system, created standard production schedule and rate cards, etc.- Created Enterprise Communications Distribution Council (ECDC) – a cross-divisional team with responsibility/oversight for communications production and distribution standardization, consolidation and cost-savings strategies. Realized over $15 million savings from 2007-2010 through the efforts of this team.
