I am the lead Oracle designer and developer for the IPV project which compares traders positions to external prices so as to check exposure and the value of trades. It loads large amounts of data from a number of internal and external sources, and uses Business Objects to display the results. The system runs on Oracle 11gr2 running on a 4 node RAC cluster using Exadata to give us the storage capacity and IO speeds required. The total size of the data warehouse is about 8Tb with many millions of records being loaded each day, and it has been implemented as a VLDB with extensive use of partitioning and partition exchange to load data

I was working as an Oracle database specialist on a data warehouse that holds fixed income data in an Oracle 10g database. I designed changes to the system to process new data feeds, and then coded the mechanisms to load and transform the data using external tables, PL/SQL packages and Unix scripts. I was also involved in an on-going performance review of the system and made many recommendations to improve system performance both at application and database levels.
