Following two and half successful years at Bourne Special Projects Ltd I have recently moved within the Group to head up the Business Development Activities for Bourne Parking Ltd. BP Ltd is specialist contractor, focusing on the design and construction of multi-storey car parks with a £30m turnover.We are the UK’s leading specialist turnkey contractor for the design and build of multi storey and single suspended deck car park projects, from the initial planning and concept of schemes, through to the completion and handover of new parking facilities. In existence for over 40 years, we have successfully constructed in excess of 70 multi storey car park buildings since the year 2000.

Eastleigh, Hampshire

Composite are a specialist design and construction company providing precast concrete frame and modular solutions.Joined the company in March 2000 as a Senior Draughtsman, In 2001, I requested a transfer to Composite’s Sales Department as Technical Sales/Business Development Manager. I achieved a successful track record in securing orders, I was responsible for 15 of 22 frame projects secured by the Company, with an approximate value of £35m.These orders were both new and repeat business. Responsible for identifying and securing precast concrete frame enquiries for multi-storey structures and planning the strategy for converting into orders, develop relationships with contractors, consultants and end users that would be of benefit to the company in securing repeat business and the required margin.

Alresford

Multi-disciplined consultants operating in numerous building materials and design/construction types. Responsibilities included the production and issue of drawings, sketch details and bar bending schedules. Also checking and giving approval to ongoing building works on a number of sites during construction. My role developed to encompass running projects with minimum assistance following the completion of the original design.

Site Based - A406 North Circular Road

This long term site position on the £50m A406 North Circular Road, Hanger Lane to Harrow Road improvement scheme enabled me to gain valuable site based experience. The project consisted of re-alignment of the north circular road, replacement of five NR bridges, the demolition and reconstruction of an aqueduct carrying the Grand Union Canal, a cable stayed bridge, two underpasses and a number of other bridges and retaining walls. Responsible to Resident Engineer I managed a small team of junior technicians for site re-design, record keeping, site supervision, liaison with local authorities, statutory bodies and residents. I had sole responsibility for the drawing management systems, and the financial control of the department.

Winchester

Employed as a junior draughtsman working on a wide variety of projects and I assisted in the setting up and implementation of Autocad in the office, and supervised the training of junior technicians and draughtspersons, both on the drawing board and on Autocad. I regularly represented the company at design and site meetings together with project design teams and the client. I left the company in 1991 having worked in the role of Senior Technician on numerous projects from small extensions to £10m contracts.
