I started with HSBC with no previous experience in banking. After several months I was working the accounts side of the business, and started dealing with people’s banking queries and problems. I was then moved to Business Banking where I became a Business Specialist. As a Business Specialist, I focused on delivering excellent service and maximising sales opportunities by identifying the needs of Retail and Commercial customers.Day-to-day, this meant working with the sales floor team to ensure that referral processes for walk-in customers were robust, as well as driving the cross-sales penetration rates achieved for account opening, lending and other sales.
