Dave served as Landscape Manager (assistant to the Property Manager) for a private estate, tasked with the daily supervision of gardening staff and landscape contractors. Dave’s larger goal was to transition the property toward a more naturalistic landscape, and to develop a landscape maintenance strategy which incorporated principles of sustainability, native plant revegetation and organic gardening. Implementation of these goals included the enhancement of existing natural features on the property such as woodlands and wetlands, landscape planting of residential areas using native plants, and changing maintenance practices.Dave also served as the owner’s representative on design teams tasked with developing Master Plans and landscape projects for the further development of the estate and for other properties owned by the family on the East Coast, the Northern Rocky Mountains, and the Carribean.

Dave was a revegetation crew member, crew leader, and Assistant Project Manager on a number of native plant revegetation and ecological restoration projects. The majority of Dave's responsibilities were related to a large landscape restoration and native plant revegetation project at a private guest ranch in the Rocky Mountain Front area of Montana (project described below).

As a Senior Consultant, Dave served as a lead Project Manager responsible for the planning, design and implementation of ecological restoration and native plant revegetation projects for a variety of clients throughout the West. Most significantly, Dave was the primary client representative to the Denver Service Center of the National Park Service and was responsible for managing several large-scale revegetation projects in various National Parks in the Western Region. As such, Dave participated in all phases of a project, from site assessments and environmental surveying, project planning and design meetings, native seed collection, plant propagation, installation of soil bioengineering structures, outplanting, establishment monitoring and reporting.
