The scope of new challenges I took on at Efficiency Nova Scotia was vast: program development and evaluation; procurement and service provider quality assurance; business opportunity development and analysis; performance measurement and management; and, the fascinating field of how consumers behave in relation to an invisible commodity. At EfficiencyOne I led monthly and quarterly corporate operations performance reporting to the CEO and Board of Directors; developed and executed the annual corporate research plan; and, identified business opportunities to increase energy savings and reduce costs through synthesis of research findings, business intelligence and customer/market data analysis. At the Worker’s Compensation Board I was awakened to the fact that many days in Nova Scotia someone doesn’t come home at the end of the day due to injury or loss of life.
