I currently work in a reaction plant making batch products for the oil and gas industry. I currently work in a team of 4 , charging and processing upto 18 vessels at a time, using heating and cooling to control the reactions of the chemicals and monitoring the overall safety of the plant making sure everything is running smooth. I currently work in a team of 4 , charging and processing upto 18 vessels at a time, using heating and cooling to control the reactions of the chemicals and monitoring the overall safety of the plant making sure everything is running smooth. Sampling the products to QC and adhere to standard operating procedures, following batch sheets making sure the correct steps are followed to make a finished product. When the product is passed by QC I then either drum off the product into required containerisation or transfer to storage tanks or road barrels to ship out.Other duties are to adhere to strict health and safety regulations as it is a top tier COMAH site and to assist in other parts of the plant including a blending plant and unloading highly explosive oxide tankers into the correct storage tanks. Working on a tank farm with highly dangerous chemicals, my main duties included the receipt of raw materials to the site which includes bulk delivery of chemical in road barrels making sure they are offloading into the correct storage vessel and testing the chemical in a QC laboratory.
