Managed the corporate environmental and sustainability programs across over 20 facilities in North America including a team of over 30 environmental professionals. The enterprise included integrated steel mills, electric arc furnaces, coke plants, finishing mills, dozens of legacy sites, a coal mine, eight stamping locations and two tube mills.Each facility had significant permit requirements under both the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act covering over 100 pollution control devices and water treatment plants in total. Responsibilities included acquiring and maintaining compliance with all environmental permits utilizing both technical and regulatory strategies.Managed RCRA and CERCLA regulatory liability at dozens of locations.Achieved industry leading environmental regulatory environmental compliance rates resulting in reduced enforcement costs of over $90M compared to the previous decade and reducing Title V compliance deviations from over 24,000 to less than 50 annually.Successfully integrated acquired operations in corporate environmental programs including substantially improving compliance rates and achieving $6M annually in operational synergies.Organizing and continually improving ESG commitments and programs in cooperation with the Board of Directors that resulted in company's Carbon Disclosure Project score being raised from "F" to "B-" and the ISS score from the 90th to the 10th percentile.
