Sole BP operations management representative on FPSO operated by 3rd party. Working in close collaboration with Teekay/Altera offshore leadership team & onshore support to ensure safe, reliable operations. Tasked to coach and influence offshore crew to improve safety culture, competence, behaviours and efficiency and building of strong trust-based relationships. Responsible for oversight activities of Teekay/Altera for delivery of safe, reliable and compliant execution of all offshore activities including operations, inspection & maintenance, and projects scopes. Additional responsibilities as focal point for BP supplied Helicopter and Supply vessels logistics.

Rumaila, Basra, Iraq

Working in close collaboration with Iraqi Operations Teams to promote a step change in operational practices and process safety. Introduction of Operational Discipline across 14 Degassing stations. Key deliverables include implementation of electronic CoW system, operations procedures, identification & elimination of Integrity issues, identification and coaching of high potential nationals into senior positions and the safe integration of greenfield projects into ageing plant whilst maintaining base production.

Rhourde El Baguel, Algeria

Providing an interface between REB teams and JV management to promote best practices, and to highlight opportunities for optimisation of operations and maintenance activities. Assisting in the implementation of CoW, Isolation and IM standards, and CMAS strategy. Input into operational strategic decision making and planning. SPOC for plant TAR activities.

Baku, Baki, Azerbaijan

Responsible for screening, interviewing and recruitment of national technicians into intensive training program. Overseeing the development of technicians through training and mobilisation to site. Thereafter, driving the CMAS process to achieve competency across the Caspian region and progress nationalisation. Close liaison with TTE with regards training and development requirements. Delivery of CMAS assessor training and verification of site assessments with discipline coaches. Regular site visits to all installation both on & offshore to support both national & expat technicians.

Tbilisi, Georgia

Member of small Operations team tasked with coaching national staff to a competent level as defined by CMAS. Based initially in project office in Tbilisi, and then transferred to both Georgia pump stations as required. Responsible for operation & maintenance of all instrument equipment along Georgian length of 1760 Km pipeline. Assisting commissioning and ensuring technical integrity of systems being handed over. Latterly duties as area authority for Georgia block valve sites and maintenance supervisor at PSG2.

Aberdeen

Transferred to the Magnus EOR project team, initially based in Aberdeen project office. Involved with writing & compiling commissioning & operating procedures, Attendance at FAT’s, SIL & HAZOP, and providing link between platform and project. Moved offshore with project, reporting to commissioning team leader to successful conclusion of project.

North Sea, Magnus Platform

Part of a self managed delivery team tasked with controlling gas plant day-to-day and long-term activities, whilst maintaining Instrument specialist role. Heavily involved in coaching & development of trainee technicians. Focal point role as workscope planner. Active participation in STOP and EMAS systems.

Colombia

Part of a small Expat commissioning team tasked with the safe and timely handover of the 817km Ocensa pipeline in Colombia. Wholly responsible for all instrument systems on pump stations, especially Miraflores, whilst working with QE27 certification system. Liasing with both Colombian and multi-national workforce. Gained working knowledge of Spanish language.

North Sea, Magnus Platform

Member of an integrated operations team with front line maintenance responsibility. Duties include breakdowns & plant watch-keeping.Responsibility for oil and gas fiscal metering. Development of trainees and latterly, duties as shutdown co-ordinator and stand-in control supervisor. Emergency role as lifeboat coxswain & Fire-team member.

Uk

Four year apprenticeship with years 1 & 2 involving basic skills training punctuated by block release to college. Years 3 & 4 consisted of intensive on-the-job training at various plants in the UK, night classes at college and commissioning experience at Wytch Farm, Dorset
