The Northwest Health Alliance was a joint venture of the 12 hospitals across the northwest to share IT, project management and analytics.

One of Ontario's most unique hospitals. A referral centre for 30% of Ontario - an area the size of Germany serving 30 remote fly in First Nation communities and five southern communities. We are fortunate to have a new $140 million facility to serve some of the most vulnerable people and communities in Canada. Fully accredited and committed to "Excellence.

Responsible for the merging of two predecessor CCACs with an annual budget of $ 100 million. Was very involved in provincial planning for the sector to encourage standardized practices, adoption of a common information system and the development of the sector's information and referral capacity.

Inaugural CEO of the NELHIN - Carried out community engagement and recruited a great senior team to develop the area's first Integrated Health Service Plan. Served on various provincial committees dealing with funding formulas, primary care, rural and northern health care.

Commissioner Roy Romanow, in his report on the Future of Health Care in Canada referred to the Group Health Centre as the "jewel in the crown of medicare". The GHC was awarded four successive best practice awards from 2002 - 2005 for its innovative programming and services. Helped to promote the unique GHC delivery model across the country.

AS CEO of the newly formed CCAC we were able to improve service delivery to many smaller communities by contracting for OT/PT/SW and medical supplies from local hospitals across the region. We provided a 24/7 Information and Referral service (310-INFO) which allowed an expansion of operating hours and intake services to 84 hours per week from less than 40.

Fort Frances/Rainy River District

The Comprehensive Health Organization (CHO) was a concept that Ontario tried to implement in the early 1990s. It was the most ambitious integration program undertaken in Ontario. Eventually achieved unanimous support from four local boards to merge to implement the CHO model. It was to be a membership driven, capitated system that would be responsible for.
