As a writer, I often help clients overcome the difficult challenge of saying how wonderful they are. Now the shoe is on the other foot. Yikes. Well, I'll give it a go.I have been in the ad business since 1993. For the first five years I cut my teeth in the art of strategic copywriting working under the tutelage of some fabulous mentors in two of Alberta's most successful medium-sized ad agencies: Inhouse Advertising (Edmonton) and The Alligator Group. I was part of the creative team responsible for developing integrated campaigns for Shaw Communications, AGT/Telus, Toyota and Calgary Co-op. It involved everything from TV to radio... print ads to brochures. I even (reluctantly) starred in my own commerical for a grocery chain. (Something I have yet to live down).In 1999, a little old - a little wiser, I set out on my own and founded Spike Creative. Over the years, I've somehow ended up working with client in sectors as diverse as agriculture, law, oil and gas, resort properties.My role is to help clients best express what they do to the world through simple yet persuasive words and captivating creative concepts.Specialties: - Strategic development, writing, creative direction.- Print advertising, brochures, newsletters, direct mail, corporate information packages, event invitations, web, radio, broadcast.
