- Provides logistics, support, and project management to clients in need of security improvements.- Advises on the overall company physical security strategy and leads the implementation of all physical security programs, policies and procedures within a region and area of responsibility.- Offers subject matter expertise surrounding the physical security strategy. - Architects new policies, security system platforms and procedures. - Applies knowledge of all applicable federal, state and local laws relating to security administration.- Manages physical security needs of employees, buildings, technology and materials. - Oversees the on-site management of physical security initiatives. - Directs special projects, research and assignments related to physical security.- Manages vendor relationships within their area of responsibility to ensure all service level agreements are met.- Approves contracts to meet developed policies and procedural guidelines for major business sites, segments or the entire location.- Consults with branch staff, retail operations managers and major building staff and assists with physical security training.- Provides direction and guidance to other physical security staff.

- Establishes Department goals, long-range plans, objectives, policies, directives, regulations, and procedures based upon the needs of clients; continually monitors and evaluates the effectiveness and responsiveness of the Department.- Directs, coordinates, and oversees all Department procedures, practices, and activities; takes necessary steps to improve security operations.- Organizes, directs, and controls all resources of the Department to protect persons and property.- Conducts regular inspections of the Department’s facilities, personnel, and equipment.- Selects and disciplines staff in accordance with state and federal laws and Department policies and procedures.- Evaluates employees annually and outlines personal development plans for employees.- Plans and directs training programs in compliance with the Bureau of Security and Investigations Services . Maintains training and performance records on all Department personnel in accordance with existing state and federal guidelines.- Assigns work schedules to staff, including coverage by outside agencies when necessary.- Within the Department, organizes, maintains, and administers the personnel policies of the Department.- Cooperates with law enforcement officials from other jurisdictions on investigations and in the apprehension and detention of suspects.- Develops and presents the annual department budget and administers the approved budget in accordance with established policy.- Maintains equipment and personnel at a level consistent with budgeted allocations. Seeks financial assistance through grant writing at the federal, state, and local levels.- Uses approved firearms, handcuffs, batons, and other hand equipment in the performance of duties in accordance with Federal and State laws, and Department policies and procedures. Keeps abreast of the latest equipment and insures that officers are trained to be proficient in its use.

- Patrols assigned area on foot, in assigned motor vehicle, or other specialized vehicle to ensure personal, building, and equipment security.- Examines doors, windows, and gates to ensure security; uses keys to open and close buildings; monitors closed buildings for unauthorized persons and/or suspicious activities.- Informs and warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.- Provides escort services for visitors, students, staff, and faculty, as necessary; provides other public assistance, such as lockout services, jump-starts, and routine information.- Watches for and reports irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contacts emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required.- Remains alert for the presence of unauthorized persons and/or security code violators; approaches suspicious persons and/or notifies police as appropriate; may confront and/or detain violators, as required, until police arrive. - Performs periodic checks of emergency call boxes and/or street lights to ensure proper functioning; reports malfunctions as required.- May provide safe and efficient transportation to employees and/or visitors, as requested, using an institutional vehicle.- Patrols and monitors assigned parking areas and/or parking garages to provide public security and assistance.- Maintains security controls for issued keys; safeguards and controls issued equipment.- Prepares routine, standardized reports.- May provide specialized security in a retail or other complex operational area, requiring specific knowledge of the operating environment.- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
