About Dave O'Brien

I am a qualified Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) and a member of the Institute of Taxation of Ireland. Having trained and worked as an assistant tax manager in Ernst & Young, I moved to Quintas in Cork in December 2012 as a Tax Manager with specific responsibilities for Tax Consultancy. In December 2013 I was promoted to Tax Director in Quintas.My role in Quintas is to provide correct and up to date tax planning to companies and individuals. I believe that it is essential that this type of tax planning is undertaken as despite the increase in tax rates and reduction in incentives and reliefs, there is still significant potential for tax savings. The advice I give clients covers all tax heads but predominantly focuses on Capital Gains Tax, Capital acquisitions Tax and VAT. Therefore company restructures and succession planning plays an important part in my day to day work. Our VAT team advises both Irish businesses trading both at home and abroad and foreign businesses coming into Ireland.
