Responsible for daily support & problem solving of issues arising on the shop floor. MLS Future State Project: Team Member of a $4,000,000 project to establish manufacturing capability for latest head gasket designs. • Enabled $1,600,000 per year in added margin and $170,000 per year in productivity savings.• Specified, purchased, and installed equipment required for production, including 400-ton hydraulic straight side press with magnetic die clamping, three-level die exchange, and foundation that was required. A 220-ton single point punch press with magnetic die clamping and die exchange. A 176-ton single point punch press with magnetic die clamping and die exchange. Developed standard work on all equipment. Established standard bolster heights for improved ergonomics and reconfigured an existing 176-ton press accordingly. Automatic Operator Certification Program• Developing a certification program for Automatic Press Operators to measure their knowledge and performance review.Led "Press Operator and Die Setter Training System" project. Training all Automatic Operators across the Metallic Value Stream.New end effecter on the pick and place.• Improved productivity of a premier cell by improving the pre-close process. • Improved productivity from 50% to 95% of a three person two shift operation.• Improved quality by making the check process robust.• Project slated to spend $20K, made improvement for approximately $3K.• New design worked on all parts run in the cell with no change-over or adjustment.Implemented 2D print and apply barcode system with vision checking and grading.
