During my time in the Prison Service, I have worked in two prisons (a Cat A dispersal and a Cat B local) undertaking numerous specialist roles as well as completing general accommodation services to prisoners. My work included the maintenance of order, search and security procedure, development and contribution to procedures and contingency planning, mentoring new staff, incident response with humane restraint where required and overall, ensuring the safe and dignified incarceration of persons committed by the courts. Key achievements include:- Working on the primary project team for the development, integration and operational arrangements of new Control Room software.- x6 commendations in the last seven years for outstanding public service and performance above and beyond that expected.- Assisting in the implementation and staffing of a new basic regime landing to effectively manage the most volatile and disruptive prisoners within the jail.- Development of underpinning mobile phone detection procedures which included the submission of intelligence for the subsequent engagement of appropriate searching startegies.My work in the Prison Service has afforded me the opportunity to untake numerous training programmes that have allowed me to develop broad security knowledge several fields to support my extensive experience.
