Head of all landside operational activities. During Covid-19 was responsible for an airport wide operational efficiency program with the objective of maximising furlough utilisation to ensure that the business remained cost efficient and protected during a closed state.Post covid responsible for re-mobilisation of the workforce to ensure the airport was ready to meet unknown operational demands. this had to be achieved on the most minimum of budgets due to cash flow limitations of the business.Departments responsible for included Airport Secuirty, Carpark Operations, PRM, Airport Lounges, Terminal Appearance and The 24 hour Terminal Management Team.

Manager of all operational secuirty activities at HIA including passenger and staff screening, hold baggage screening, secondary screening for high risk destinations and all physical secuirty duties.Management of the airport joint Airport security operations centre along side Qatar State police force.Management of some 2000 staff in order to deliver the above activities.

Responsible for the Airport Security Operation at East Midlands Airport (EMA), including all operational matters, direct people management and Compliance with statutory regulations.The operation includes the main passenger terminal, the airfield security operation and a large cargo operation in which EMA provide security for. EMA is a 24 hour operation and therefore required a successful team to ensure smooth running of the facility.This role requires the direct operational and tactical management of circa 350 security colleagues at various levels within the structure.

Employed at Manchester Airport Group as Head of Group Security Strategy. This role is responsible for the design, development and delivery (through security subject matter experts across M.A.G) an M.A.G strategy and development framework for airport security compliance and operational development that is standardised across M.A.G to ensure a ‘one company approach’. This is to include DfT (UK regulators) / EU airport security regulations.To further create an M.A.G engagement frame work that ensures that M.A.G has a standardised ‘one company voice’ in relation to security regulations & development and how we communicate with the various stakeholders involved. This will further ensure consistency with how we deliver regulatory compliance and development of our product offering.My role is to objectively determine the agenda for security strategy in conjunction with key business stakeholders, taking input and customers & regulators and prioritizing in line with strategic imperatives.

This role was a new position within the company and required building and developing from scratch, whilst also delivering new products that added value to the business, this is a group role and therefore includes Manchester, East Midlands, and Bournemouth Airports.The main focus of the role is to develop products that add value to customer experience, reduce operating costs, generate income, and improve colleague satisfaction and to improve Security standards.This role requires close liaison with key stakeholders, at all levels both internally and externally. Business case and Capital investment processes are a key element of this role and once a product was approved for development a clear and defined change management program was initiated.In order to develop new products a thorough understanding of the people, process and technology is required. I therefore have a clear understanding of service delivery of a large Airport operation, with the additional of knowledge making changes to improve this service whilst reducing operational costs or generating income.

Duties include day-to-day management of the Security areas. This includes, ensuring all Department for Transport regulations are met, all Airport policies are adhered to by staff, to ensure the smooth operation of passenger flow and dealing with any passengers complaints/comments, dealing with staff issues as they arise, management of the area which at times, can include anything up to 100 staff members. Close liaison with senior management, other departments and Government agencies was also a key part of the job. During this role I successfully completed and passed Aviation Security accreditation Levels 1, 2 and 3.

As A Military Police Officer I served in many different locations through out the country, and the rest of the world. My first UK Posting led me to Lincolnshire and the Royal Air Force College Cranwell. Whilst here I conducted a six month posting as a Civilian Police Officer in the War Torn state of Kosovo as a NATO Peace keeper. Upon my return I was transferred to Nottinghamshire Police as a Test Purchase Drug Investigator. After this I completed a six month tour in Afghanistan during the height of the conflict working as Airport security liaison officer in the military Air head. My next positing was to RAF Digby, Lincolnshire. During my time here I completed a Six month tour of Iraq as Civilian Police Instructor, training the newly formed Iraqi Airport Police Force in basic duties. One of my major roles here was as a supervisor for Airport security operating, instructing and supervising all forms of electronic detection equipment and personnel. During my time with the RAF Police I have been instructed how to deal with security situations ranging from IED (improvised explosive devises) incidents, armed intruders, serious emergency situations etc. I have had been the incident commander in a variety of situations due to my experience where in some cases there were people of higher rank present.
