Join an expanding team of fishing professionals operating out of Ucluelet on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. Work with the owner to ensure all vessels are in top mechanical condition and meet Transport Canada Certification. Daily safety briefings with passengers, log book entries and radio checks. Voyages consist primarily in the offshore region off Vancouver Islands West Coast.

Own an operate a small fishing charter operation in Ucluelet British Columbia Conduct Voyages including but not limited to; the Alberni Inlet, Barkely Sound, Ucluelet, West Coast of Vancouver Island. Ensure the safe passage of all customers while in pursuit of pacific halibut and chinook salmon. Execute safety drills, brief passengers regarding safety and emergency procedures, log book entries, radio checks. Minor and major maintenance duties and mechanical repair.

Oversee the day to day operations of small fishing charter and whale watching operation consisting of 4 vessels and 18 employees. Fleet captain working with other Masters and Crew. Perform safety inspections of vessels and equipment, outline safety protocol with other masters and crew, schedule and perform basic safety drills. Service and repair of Hino and Cummins marine diesel engines, service and repair of gasoline inboard and outboard engines. Delegate duties to other staff members as required and be an energetic team leader.

Command 43-50 ft Delta Marine Vessels. Ensure the safety and comfort of up to 22 passengers and 3 crew on daily fishing and whale watching excursions. Complete daily radio, engine, and safety logs. Assist fleet captain with all maintenance duties. Work with maintenance crew performing winter haul outs and prep vessels for Transport Canada safety, topside and mechanical inspections.

Complete an apprenticeship in the trade of Automotive service technician. Routine maintenance and repairs of all makes and models of vehicles including BC Ambulance fleet vehicles. Complete full troubleshooting and diagnostics of computer controlled systems, including but not limited to; emissions, anti lock brakes, air bags, fuel delivery, and charging systems. Mechanical repairs including but not limited to; steering and brakes, alignments, suspension, tune ups, exhaust, and heating ventilation and air conditioning systems.
