David is a teacher at Maillard Middle School. Previously he taught at Porter Street Elementary School and Irvine. Before that he taught at Captain Cook and False Creek Elementary Schools. Prior to his work at False Creek, David worked with children in Grades K-12 in a wide variety of settings and roles. David's post secondary education includes Simon Fraser University, where he completed his Bachelor degree in Psychology. He went back to S.F.U. to complete their Professional Teaching Program. After teacher training, and some time teaching in Vancouver, David went to Graduate School at the University of British Columbia and completed his Masters degree with a focus on Educational Leadership.As a teacher, David has gained extensive experience in elementary education at the middle school level. His professional strengths include, strong people skills, teaching, curriculum development, coaching, problem solving and team building. David's professional interests include social emotional learning, teacher professional development, leadership, museum learning and increasing student engagement through technology.
