As a young boy, Dave felt compelled to escape the innate barbarity of suburban Ohio, so he swam to Europe and became the world's youngest-ever Formula 1 test driver -- at the age of nine. While under contract to F1 Team Ferrari, Dave was adopted by Enzo Ferrari himself, who once remarked, "Dave's stellar, God-given talent will surely make him the most important driver in F1 history." Mr. Ferrari later compared him to a 3-time F1 World Champion, quipping, "Ayrton Senna isn't fit to valet Dave's street car." Dave's burgeoning F1 career was cut tragically short by a test session crash in the late 1980s, when -- at 210 mph -- he swerved to miss a squirrel. While he was tremendously honored to receive PETA's Medal of Supreme Awesomeness for saving the rodent, his competitive driving days were over -- though, he did continue to date super-hot European models, a practice he continues to this day.In 2005, Dave was chosen to be the next James Bond, but was forced to back out at the last minute due to an old injury sustained in the aforementioned Formula 1 crash. The producers' second choice, Daniel Craig, was then awarded the part, remarking to The Hollywood Reporter, "Dave is a total badass who was born to play this role. I mean, he swam from Ohio to Europe at the age of nine. Who does that? I'm just honored to be mentioned in the same sentence as the guy."Friends say Dave also has a wild imagination, which has helped immensely on his writing projects for many of the world's top brands, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Starbucks, Jim Beam, Nikon, United Airlines, Target, The Economist, Wrigley's, Miller Lite, and numerous others.
