Throughout the years working as a public servant and through owning AELighting, I was able to truly dedicate the time and learning to perfect my skills in customer relations, customer service and being a positive resource to those customers and the people around me. People who live, work and travel through a county are in a sense a customer and even if you work as a county representative or an authoritative figure, those people still deserve no less than your best at all times. Respect and treat every customer well and treat every person you meet as a customer. I take pride in my customer service skills more than anything and do my best everyday to empower those around me to be their best. I have been fortunate to move through the ranks during my time at the county and after the county, from a Project Manager, Sr Project Manager and into the role as the General Manager. As a General Manager I have found that those customer service skills are just as much needed to be an effective manager. Clear communication, listening and patience is just a start at being a good manager and a leader and never become complacent or ask of others what you aren't prepared to do yourself. Always strive each day to become better and never go a day without learning something new. If we already know everything we are useless but if we can take time to learn something new each day then we place ourselves in a position to be successful. Be dedicated, be honest, work hard and push yourself to be your best and the rest will fall into place around you.
