Quickly transformed the operational environment at NETL which had consisted of multiple client configurations for various hardware platforms and application incompatibilities to a common, standardized configuration that was universal and more stable. This consistency reduced support calls, simplified application testing, and made deployments more reliable. Demonstrated a significant business unit cost savings by delivering a network intensive client-server application via Citrix to remote sites. The business unit reported time savings equivalent to over $50,000 per year in man hours simply related to the increased speed of the application.

As part of the EHR Technical Team, primary responsibility was to support and maintain the infrastructure hosting the EHR databases, applications, and interfaces. This infrastructure consisted of an IBM mainframe running AIX and Oracle 9i with middleware interfaces to legacy applications as well as a Citrix farm to deliver the front-end applications to over 40,000 users. The environment demanded high-availability and optimized performance to ensure the health and safety of UPMC patients. Successfully implemented a single sign-on solution for the enterprise that also synchronized patient records and encounters between multiple applications being viewed.

Primary operator for intelligence database designed specifically for the Air Force Electronic Warfare Center. Maintained physical and computer security in a TOP SECRET environment. Also provided technical support for all DOS and Windows based PCs and software in a Help Desk capacity.

Provided administrative support for the Air Force Computer Security Directorate and the Air Force Computer Emergency Response Team (AFCERT). Responsibilities included supporting database operations for tracking hackers and viruses, testing anti-virus and security software for Air Force-wide use. Enforced physical and computer security procedures and performed functional area inspections of all administrative disciplines.
