Purchased and opened initial operations for a car rental franchise in local market area of Central Florida. Began with 1 location and 14 vehicles in April of 2004 and as of January 2012 operate 2 locations with a fleet of 250 units. As owner, I was responsible for all start-up administration, securing fleet financing and negotiation of fleet and property leases. In 2008, I expanded into off-airport parking at the Orlando International Airport. In conjunction with my partner, I purchased and developed a facility to service car rental and parking operations.

Managed financial planning, reporting and analysis for this $400M business with direct responsibility for location profitability, inventory performance and control for 38,000 units and sales and pricing at a local level.• Developed and implemented plans for improved asset management and cost reduction resulting in significant profit ($25M) and margin (6%) improvement.• Created and instituted new customer service processes that resulted in complaint reduction from 1.08 per thousand to .47 per thousand.• Established unit merchandising and sales practices that resulted in $2.8M in incremental revenue.• Participated, as an officer of the company, in the development and integration of Ryder truck rental into existing Budget infrastructure.• Developed maintenance capabilities for truck product line. This included selection, planning, build-out and operational start-up of maintenance facilities throughout the region, which resulted in savings of $12M for more than a two-year period.• Redesigned, as member of senior management team, quality standards for corporate and dealer outlets.

The primary objective of this position was to restructure field operations and restore profitability for corporate and dealer locations in California, Oregon, Washington and Nevada.• Increased revenues from $248M to $280M and reduced personnel expense by 14%. This, in addition to aggressive cost reductions and control, resulted in profit margin improvement of $20M.• Through development of internal control processes improved utilization (asset performance) by 8%.• Directed the activities of 12 local sales representatives.• Oversaw the activities of five local reservation centers.• Responsible for performance of four car sales lots in the Bay area.

Total responsibility all P&L, financial, sales/marketing and operational elements of corporately owned locations in the state of Florida. Specific duties included all financial reporting and accounting, development of annual sales and marketing plans and expansion of location base.• Directed activities expanding corporate base from 4 cities to 18 while increasing employee base from 500 to 1200.• Annually created and executed marketing plans for international and domestic sources of revenue. Responsible for budgets in excess of $6M.• Established car and truck revenue objectives and tracked performance for a sales force of 40 individuals.• Personally negotiated and oversaw administration of all international and domestic tour wholesale accounts that included clients in Europe, South America, Canada and the United States.
