In my role as Workforce Analytics and Strategy Manager I focus on:Being a trusted advisor to my customers - Serve as a primary point of contact with HRBPs providing consultative advice on workforce metrics, strategy and visualization. We work closely together in preparation for business operational and strategic leadership meetings. - Consult directly with business leadership reporting out analytic results critical to business issues such as productivity and people strategy design. - Providing an analytical perspective to traditional and non-traditional HR issues including (but not limited to) engagement, diversity, talent management, union negotiations, workforce planning and productivity.Leading predictive analytics projects - Serve as the lead data scientist responsible for creating predictive models to measure both HR and business outcomes such as turnover and sales results. - Manage other team members in all phases of predictive analytic projects. - Calculate drivers through predictive modeling to influence policy and decision makers. - Use statistical methods including multivariate regression and other advance analytical techniquesOverseeing the ETL process - Manage and participate in a monthly ETL process blending multiple disparate data from sources including PeopleSoft, Workday, Taleo, LMS, ADP, SAP, and Kronos. - Manage and lead other team members thoughout the ETL process. - Use SAS and T-SQL throughout the ETL process to manage all phases of the data model from initial load into the dev environment to final push in the production environment - Use Microsoft SSIS and SSMS to feed our operational and ad hoc reporting requestsAdvising on BI and data visualizations - Participate in various elements of BI and viz creation for multiple customers in HR and business leadership. - Create Tableau and Excel dashboards to allow HRBPs to interact and drilldown to answer specific leadership requests.

Dave was a senior associate with the Workforce Analytics and Planning Center of Excellence of the Talent business. Dave helped clients link their people strategy to achieve their desired business results. He specialized in customizing workforce analytics to address specific needs and linking workforce forecasts to future productivity. Dave had been with Mercer since 2004 and has experience with global clients providing advice on human capital strategy and measurement, workforce planning, attraction and retention, and pay equity studies. Through this process he identified strategies to increase productivity and value by improving human capital management. This in turn helped shape the path to alignment between the client's human capital, HR and business strategies. Dave also served on Mercer's Scan and Workforce Planning Application teams, responsible for exploring the relationship between employee perceptions and organization practices. Dave has advanced expertise of Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, SAS, and actuarial systems. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science and Economics from the University of Iowa.

Dave was a pioneer in developing web-based benefit calculators to improve the benefit certification process. His improvements made the process more reliable and calculation turnaround time increased tenfold.Dave also produced long-term stochastic and deterministic financial forecasts using Excel, Visual Basic and ProVal. These forecasts allowed his clients to meet their financial and workforce goals while understanding their associated future costs.Dave was the lead manager of an audit of a major retirement calculation system. He developed several Excel spreadsheets to certify retirement benefits while identifying discrepancies in the system. The result was significant cost savings for calculations by requiring fewer resources to complete a certification and removing costly errors from the calculation system.
