I am currently an investigative reporter at CBS News Chicago with the CBS News Chicago Investigators and have been since 2004. My career in Chicago started at NBC5 Chicago with the UNIT-5 investigative team where I was an investigative reporter from 1993-2004. Awards include 27 regional Emmys, a national Emmy Crystal Pillar award, Alfred I. duPont award, five national Edward R. Murrow awards, 2019 national IRE award and 2019 George Foster Peabody award, 2020 NABJ network investigative award for “Unwarranted” on CBS Evening News with Norah O’Donnell and 2020 and 2021 Chicago Emmy for our series exposing wrong police raids at the homes of innocent families. 2020 Emmy for Best Single Investigative Report “The Anjanette Young Story.” Voted best reporter by the Illinois Associated Press 5 times. I filed my first reports in 1989 at WKEF in Dayton, Ohio and at WHIZ in Zanesville, Ohio. Specializing in exposing government waste and corruption, police corruption, consumer scams, product liability, environmental reporting and medical negligence. Other areas of expertise include investigating public transportation, public schools, and failing infrastructure. Competed in numerous triathlons including a half-iron man and a certified scuba diver. Frequent contributor and live guest on local Chicago radio shows. Volunteer and emcee for dozens of charitable and non-profit organizations working to raise funds and awareness for pediatric brain cancer research, organ donation, military veteran groups, youth groups, domestic violence victims, food pantries and homeless shelters.
