As I watched my grandparents age quickly over recent years they began to struggle to move around their house. They hated the idea of having grab rails installed because of the stigma attached with the clinical, hospital looking rails. This is why I created Avail. It was the need to have my grandparents live well with dignity, independence, and most of all prevent injury. I’ve worked with occupational therapists and consulted with industry professionals and Swinburne University researchers to develop our products.Design has the unique ability to dignify, it can make people feel valued, respected, honoured, seen. Healthcare products should motivate not depress.
