• Provide advisory and structuring solutions relating to exchange control and cross border capital flows to the greater FirstRand Group, its divisions, foreign offices and external clients of the bank• To act as a business enabler and to find solutions to satisfy the needs of the clients• Work with the various FirstRand divisions to expand and develop the advisory function, and accompany the various coverage teams to customers• Utilize understanding of Capital (incl impact of Basle III), Liquidity, Funding and Pricing functions within Group Treasury in order to provide a broader client offering• Liaison with industry bodies and entities such as the, JSE, SARB, National Treasury, and other Authorised dealers to be at the forefront of new developments and products• Research international trends and best practise regarding foreign exchange and cross border transactions to ensure our solutions are effective and of a continuous high standard

• Analyze and report on trends in the industry, opportunities for expansion and possible methods of improving the competitiveness of the business.• Liaise with Chef Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer of RMB to measure, report and discuss the performance of the division and the greater bank in terms of the banks’ stated risk, performance and capital targets and to ensure alignment with the target operating model of the bank.• Together with the CFO of the bank and the CFO’s of the other business units, define and implement the finance strategy of the bank.• Provide high level input and oversee the preparation of all financial reports, regulatory returns and reports to all stakeholders.as well as economic capital usage and commentary. • Liase with the market risk area and act as the intermediary between the risk and finance view of the market.• Liase with the compliance function to ensure that the proper systems and procedures are in place to identify and manage business risks and regulations.

• Provide high level input and oversee the preparation of all financial reports, regulatory returns, and report to all stakeholders.• Review reports to analyze actual vs budget vs forecast profits as well as balance sheets, Basle II economic capital usage and commentary. • Participate in the Deal Conclusion Forum for the approval and introduction of new structures and products.

• Implementation of IAS 39 cashflow hedge accounting for ALCO Endowment and Prime hedge books including the Liquids assets portfolio.• Assisting FirstRand Group Technical with respect to the formulation of accounting policies and notes relating to cashflow and fair value hedging.• Preparing monthly Income Statements and Balance Sheets, including the preparation of regulatory returns and daily profit reports.

• Analysis and evaluation of various instrument valuations under different assumptions and valuation methodologies.• Development of mathematical models to be used in the valuation of derivative instruments.• Providing technical advice on the accounting treatment and underlying nature of financial instruments.
