£190mMy present role has changed since starting on this project.To begin, I was in my familiar Senior Engineer role overseeing the online section work. With two engineers reporting to me, I was responsible for short term programming and management of the works and subcontractors. Of particular interest was the management and organisation of the Traffic Management phases, and work that could be done in each phase.I wanted to try a different role, and so now I am working in the Quality department. My main responsibilities have been;1.Managing the TQ system and liaising with designers to resolve all queries.2.Ensuring all ITP's are in place and approved.3.Changing the system for collecting and managing quality observations in line with Highways England best practise.4.Managing the NCR process and snag lists.While doing this I have also been involved with early planning for the de-trunking phase of works which involved scrutinising drawings, and raising technical queries. Planning what early works can be done, and managing the CCTV of all existing drains for defects.

Heysham to M6 - £120mI was responsible for a section of the works (A6 to M6) . From take off and ordering of materials, to managing subcontractors and RAMS I was overseeing delivery of all elements of work which included major STATS diversions, drainage, kerbs, fencing, lighting installation and surfacing. A new temporary access installed from the motorway, and septic tank for third party.I was involved in running the "last planner", having weekly make ready meetings, and weekly coordination meetings.

Birse Civils LtdSenior Engineer Edge Lane West £6.4mThe full works comprise high quality environmental improvements to continue the dual two-lane boulevard theme along Edge Lane. The works will integrate a new highway, with improved pedestrian facilities at new signalised junctions, soft landscaping and extensive tree planting.Hall Lane Improvements £9mConstruction work on Hall Lane Strategic Gateway commenced on site in October 2009, following a successful ECI period. Hall Lane is one of the major gateways to Liverpool City Centre and a key link road from the M62. Designed to relieve the heavily congested route into Liverpool, the scheme formed the next stage in the Liverpool City Centre Movement Strategy (CCMS).The full works comprised construction of around 1km of dual carriageway, including new build road and online widening and remodelling of existing junctions.Sandon Dock, Liverpool £27mWorking in partnership with MWH for UU, this scheme involved multi stage replacement of BAFF cells, construction of new actiflow tanks, and conversion of an old holding tank into completely new apparatus. Main works comprised of FRC works and extensive pipework.Other projects not listed here.
