The word Comfort was a carefully chosen and considered adjective and certainly does not impinge upon quality, but fits with our entire ethos of comfort, happiness, and well-being. Nothing outlandishly iconic in the lowlands but blessed with the incredible beauty of the wide-open spaces, rolling hills, valleys, dales, and lochs. I consider myself very fortunate and blessed to have lived in two amazingly beautiful Countries.The big front-of-house refurbishment was done in March 2015. Very worthwhile and very relevant. Loved doing it and now in 2019/20 upgrading it again along with the rooms are getting a full revamp with updated bathrooms and original windows now complete. We closed the Restaurant for Winter 2019/20 and again in the lockdown of 2020/2021 so that we can continue with the refurbishment and change of style in our food delivery. In other words, always looking at our business as we strive to get it right continuously. The old downstairs restaurant is now more loungy, social, and comfy whilst the restaurant is now upstairs in a very beautiful room - Previously the breakfast room. An "OPS" room has now been incorporated and is fully functional as a multi-purpose room. Large maps of the UK and Europe, Lounge and large screen TV. A room for every purpose. New carpets now in 2022

Savour the Flavours is now closed completely. Savour the Flavours was an amazing food and drink network covering Dumfries and Galloway. It achieved some great things in support of local produce in all areas.This is an amazing part of Scotland for small artisan producers full of passion.Sadly lack of funding did not allow the continued growth and function of the organisation. A very sad loss to the region.

Joined the British South Africa Police from school as a cadet. Some of the happiest days of my life in rural Africa. This was a great force that really did lay strong foundations for the rest of my life. The lack of a future (politically) encouraged a premature exit. Amazing memories and amazing camaraderie. I was very fortunate. This was a highly professional Police Force with international and local respect. It was not easy to become a member of the force but once in you became a member of an exclusive and professional organisation with very strong ethics. Some of the greatest people I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Powerful and everlasting memories.
