Responsible for all stock purchases, management of the inventory, inter-profit centre trading, system maintenance, debits notes, & other rolls within the business as required. I am also the branch Fire Warden, with all of the responsibilities & duties that are required by law, & hold current First Aider at work certification.

Dealing with customers, their orders, enquiries & sorting out any issues on a day to day basis.I was also responsible for the smooth day to day running of one of the profit centre's major accounts, having direct daily contact with their purchasing manager.

Managing the running of the warehouse & in charge of three warehouse operatives & three drivers. I was also responsible for the upkeep of the profit centres van fleet, organising their maintenance, services & also the hiring of replacement vehicles & temporary staff when required.

Daily operation of the warehouse & transport.Liaising with sales team & management to insure delivery requirements were met. Responsible for four members of staff, including two drivers, the layout & upkeep of the warehouse to exacting standards.

I started with the company as a trade-counter assistant & telephone sales. After two years I was then asked to help look after our fledgling own brand warehouse, which then developed into a full sized distribution centre for all of the companies products.When this huge change took place, I planned & coordinated the move of all of the stock from the warehouse in Reading to the new distribution centre in Basingstoke, & set up all of the product location systems.Initially I planned in being the administration supervisor in the new set up, but was asked by senior management to take on the role as the warehouse picking & dispatch area shift manager, where I was in charge of a shift of between 15 & 20 staff, & responsible for the efficient operation of this section of the centre.After this was running successfully, I was then asked if I would be prepared to move section to our goods inward & replenishment section, as it had been allowed to get into a bit of a mess by the supervisor who was running it at the time. This I did, & successfully sorted the running of this department out, so that it ran efficiently & smoothly, adhering to ISO9001. I stayed within this part of the business, but occasionally looked after the dispatch section as well, until I left the company in 1996.

I was responsible for the day to day picking & packing of customers orders, & also the goods inward & re-stocking duties normally associated with warehouse work. I also helped on the trade-counter when it was busy.I regrettably left the company a year after it had been purchased by another electrical wholesaler, as promised promotion within the business was not forthcoming.
