Dave Sprankle retired after 35 ½ years of dedicated service to the rail industry. Dave began his career as Patrolman with the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad Police Department, advancing through the organization holding several managerial and supervisory positions with increasing responsibilities, including several areas of Risk Management, and retired as Assistant Chief of Network Security & Intelligence with the CN Police Department. Dave has been actively involved in Homeland Security programs for CN and the rail industry, including several state and national Anti-Terrorism Task Force Committees and initiatives. Dave has also been an active member in numerous organizations and committees:• International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) - Life Member• Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police (ILACP)• Past President of the Illinois Railroad Police Chiefs’ Association (IRPCA)• Illinois Police Association (IPA)• Chicago Railway Special Agents and Police Association (CRSA&PA) - Life Member • Fraternal Order of Police (FOP)• South Suburban Association of Chiefs of Police (SSACOP)• Association of American Railroads (AAR) Rail Security Working Committee (RSWC); and• the Rail Sector Coordinating Council (RSCC) Dave holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Law Enforcement Management from Calumet College of St. Joseph in Whiting, IN, and is also a graduate of the Police Training Institute (PTI) from the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL.
