As the Senior Optical Field Technician for Uniti Group I am responsible for building and maintaining outside fiber optic plant consisting of a 2500 + node network with an Alcatel core. While working on outside fiber optic plant I troubleshoot with OTDR`s, power meters, fiber splicers, testers and locaters making changes as needed to the AS-Built documents. I assist in installing all equipment necessary for a redundant network in cabinets, huts at cell sites and MSC`s, POP sites as a lead of a 8 man employee/contractor team. I help schedule access into 3rd party POP`s and schedule maintenances with our own NOC / customer Network Operations Centers. I have displayed competency with Alcatel Phm 1354, 1350 OMS 7210 IOS, 7750, 7705, 9500 platform, 1830 PSS - 4, 8, 16, and PSS – 32. Write Methods of Procedure for work that will require outages on the network. I have assisted in training new contractors/employees in the approved install procedures. I am proficient in all aspects of DC power plants.
