WebTView was a startup company providing a platform for Over-The-Top (OTT) Internet TV.Sole developer of the streaming video accelerator product: a portable, embedded Linux application written in C, implemented as an HTTP transparent proxy, and running on set-top boxes, routers and access points• Brought the application from a buggy proof-of-concept to a fully-featured product• Boosted performance by 130% by designing an algorithm that detects changes in network conditions and adjusts the accelerator logic accordingly• Redesigned the HTTP proxy infrastructure, and optimized the multi-threaded logic, allowing a 90% decrease in memory usage, and enabling the product to be available to a larger portion of the market• Built a unique “WAN Emulation” lab by analyzing Internet traffic with Pcap, and reproducing the behavior using tc (Linux’s “traffic control”) and netfilter. The lab was used in the development and QA of the product, and was crucial to achieving maximum performance in real-life environments
