Editor of two simultaneous long-term projects for Red Bull Music Academy – the first, standardising and editing several years’ worth of video interviews from the Academy’s lecture archives; the second, editing an extensive collection of written interviews gathered over a 15-year period by the music historians Frank Broughton and Bill Brewster. Digital editing and content migration services for the international legal firm Eversheds Sutherland, for whom I have also edited in-depth, client-facing brochures. Consumer-facing travel copywriting for a number of travel hubs and airports.

A key role on The Guardian’s award-winning longform journalism section, The Long Read. Duties included deep structural editing and close line editing of pieces by renowned writers. Involved in all stages of the editing process, from the conception of pieces and the refining of initial drafts to final revisions and the writing of display copy for print, digital platforms and social media. Close collaboration with design, photography and multimedia departments.

Responsible for layouts, subbing, revise subbing and the writing of display copy on The Guardian’s daily G2 supplement. Edited content, ranging from short print articles and online blogs to serious reportage by foreign correspondents. Duties included the optimisation of content for publication on The Guardian’s digital properties. Regular shifts on arts desk, the New Review and special projects.

Words and images commissioned by national and international newspapers, magazines and websites, including The Guardian, The Observer, Daily Telegraph, The Independent, The National, The Caravan, Places Journal, New Humanist, Open Democracy, The Face, i-D, Dazed & Confused, The Wire, The Village Voice, Spin, Pitchfork, Muzik, NME and MTV. Subjects include current affairs and human-interest stories, music and arts criticism.Senior sub editor and production editor on various national publications (1998-2002, 2006- 2007 and 2011-2012). Senior editing position on this Abu Dhabi-based broadsheet newspaper’s prestige weekend section. Duties included structural, line and copy editing of longform reports from across the MENA region, local diaries, music, books and arts reviews, the commissioning of weekly features and the generation of story ideas. Contributed to the building and managementof a network of high-quality freelance writers across the UK, US and Middle East. Also responsible for the production of 24 weekly pages, including the writing of display copy and the revision of pieces edited by colleagues.

Responsibilities on the daily G2 supplement included copy editing, fact checking, revise editing, the writing of display copy, the laying out of print pages and the optimisation of content for The Guardian’s website. This position required an in-depth knowledge of current affairs and the arts, an eye for design, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments against strict print deadlines.

Senior editorial position on the News of the World's Sunday magazine, including line editing, rewriting, fact checking, the writing of display copy and the revision of work by junior colleagues. Much of this time was spent seconded to departments dedicated to the development and launch of new products. These included retail magazines, newspaper supplements and partworks distributed in the News of the World, The Sun, The Times and Sunday Times.
