I lead a talented and creative Biophysical Methods Group which develops binding assays for multiple small molecule drug discovery programs. While we focus predominantly on SPR (Biacore), we are expanding into other areas of expertise to broaden our “toolbox”, and enjoy critically evaluating cutting-edge technologies. We support fragment based drug discovery (FBDD) with SPR assay development & fragment screening, as well as later-stage characterization of compound binding (thermodynamics, kinetics, etc.).I also have a long history developing cell-based and enzymatic assays and adapting them for screening campaigns; validating assay robustness and running screens; developing secondary assays and driving in vitro hit identification & validation, and lead identification & optimization efforts. I've served as Scientific Project Leader on a novel small molecule oncology effort. I've also contributed to the identification & validation of pharmacological targets for small molecule drug discovery.
