Hygiene / Health & Safety Manager
I am managing all Hygiene cleaning & pest proof control services, within a large bakery.I have control over the budget for all Hygiene purchases, contracts, site disposables, equipment, materials & labour. I helped the site achieve a grade A+ in BRC 7 and have helped capture new business by passing customer audits. All procedures and training files have been re-developed by me and I have restructured the Hygiene shifts which have saved the company over £30,000 pa.I have helped design a new system for planning and auditing all of the Hygiene work & site GMP audits as well as writing new CIC’s for all the Hygiene activities.Also I have been responsible for the Health & Safety on site and I coordinate and facilitate the Heath & Safety meetings. Shift Production Manager
Helped commission two brand new plants from installation to producing product for sale. Conducted interviews and recruited new staff for the running of the new plants all within budget and also saved money by looking at leaner labour utilisation. Implemented all the SOP’s and training cards so that the new operatives can operate the machinery safely and correctly. Ensured that all operatives are fully conversed with HACCP’s and the filling in of process documentation correctly in order to pass the internal and external audits carried out daily. Controlled and maintained company standards to help pass external customer audits and helped the site achieve a blue standard two years running. Implemented plant production schedules and damage sheets in order to look at specific areas where we can improve on productivity. Helping to set up a Health and Safety committee to look at ways to keep the accidents down and ensure everyone is continuing to work safely within the whole factory. Maintain good communication with our sister bakery in Oxfordshire to ensure all deadlines are met regarding products and trucking deadlines. Implemented 5’s from the start and help drive and maintain standards at all levels.
