Started programming computers at MIT in 1962 then joined RCA where I created Y2K problems for federal government systems. Was one of the founders of C3, Inc (which later became Telos) and eventually became CEO before leaving to form my own companies (Designetics and ZONAR Corporation),My initial expertise was in the design and implementation of Operating Systems (did one from scratch for the Data General NOVA) and Database Management Systems (two from scratch), but in the mid-nineties had the revelation that "it's the Information, stupid!"Since then have pursued "Information" (rather than "Data") Technologies, inventing Information Objects for use in encapsulating complex information packages that can be processed via rules-based systems to produce valid, derivative information. Primary targets for use of Information Objects have been Medical and Real Estate systems.Have also maintained a lifelong tradition of community service - I was on the National Ski Patrol in college and continue as a Volunteer Firefighter today - working with Community Television and the Rotary Club everywhere we have lived.
