Employed as a Product & Technical Engineer responsible for all of Dish HD's digital satellite receiver products. Responsible for software product life cycle management, from initial software development through to beta testing and final product release. The role requires constant engagement between Taipei sales & marketing team with EchoStar’s USA R&D team during the satellite receiver development. The scope of this position encompass the following areas• Software Project Management • Field Beta testing and product management• Customer Service & Technical Support for all technical issues on satellite receivers• Product Validation/Testing• New product sourcing• Engineering documentation and control• SOP development for technical supportAdditional responsibilities include Service Quality Assurance for EchoStar’s satellite pay TV service, which requires regular contact with the numerous technical support organization of International TV broadcast providers.

Leading an international software testing team (UK, Netherlands) for a new digital set-top product for the USA market. This was the first non-satellite receiver product from Echostar and a new product segment for EchoStar. In this position, the main responsibilities included:• End-to-end software testing life-cycle for the new product• Responsible for creating and developing test cases from requirements• Software quality assurance• Planning and allocating testing resources• Reporting software quality to R&D team• Identifying risks in software code development & changes• Write test conditions to ensure compliance to various standards (E.g. HDMI, FreeSat)• Create reports for project managers to depict the quality of the software and the progress of the testing effort• Develop automated stress tests in specialised environments

YP Electronics was a specialist EPOS company who specialized in point of sale systems targeted at newsagents and forecourts. My role was to establish a software test department, introduce standardized test processes/practices and acquire a suitable defect tracking system.
