Various roles including -2013 to current: Engineering Technician – United UtilitiesI am part of the team responsible for updating United Utilities production network’s schematics that are key to supporting their strategic resource planning. Part of my role includes establishing how their water resource zones are configured to supply the distribution network. We use a combination of software, engineering principles and local knowledge to create a high level schematic of each area showing from the supply to distribution.Crowder provides UU’s leakage management system (Netbase) and I am part of the team that tests the product, finding faults and raising them with sufficient technical detail in the company’s incident management system (TestTrack) so that the programming team can address them.2010-2013: Field Engineer – Yorkshire WaterYorkshire Water required a substantial project to assess their risk to OfWat’s DG5 (flooding) regulations. The project involved field based customer property surveys (over 1 million) to check, assess and document the condition of Yorkshire Waters waste water assets.2005-2009 Field Engineer – Northumbrian WaterI completed a DG2 (clean water pressure management) project for Northumbrian Water that involved both checking and logging hydrants, PRV’s, meters and customer meters. In addition the logged assets were levelled (including reservoirs) across the North East for the purpose of network modelling. We used both GPS and manual levelling for this project working either as 2 man teams or individually.
