I started my electrical apprenticeship in 1984 with BAA at Gatwick Airport. At the conclusion of the program I was employed as a Technician in North Terminal Engineering specializing on the baggage system. Working on electrical, mechanical and system controls led to great all round abilities. Promotion to Team Leader added to the responsibility of looking after a team of professional engineers. furthering my education led to me becoming an NVQ Assessor and carrying out an advanced apprenticeship in Engineering Management A promotion in 2019 gave me the opportunity to train our future engineers as i was appointed as Gatwick Apprentice Development lead. Ensuring we produce the best future technicians for Gatwick is my priority. Working on making the apprenticeship scheme the best it can possibly be is my goal. Being in partnership with our college and driving home the importance of training our young people to embrace this opportunity is my goal and an absolute pleasure for me. I work to promote the importance of STEM, visiting many schools and attending events and promoting the importance of women in engineering.
