I joined the Lonmin team to set up and lead its long-term strategic initiative of mechanising its underground narrow-tabular mines, both in current and future planned shafts.
Responsible for short- and medium-term (5 years) safety, health, production and financial performance and planning of underground mine and surface mining operations. Production rate – 1’100’000 tons per month ex underground, plus 800’000 tons per month ex surface sources.Interface with all internal service departments (technical, maintenance, finance, human resources, asset management, SHEQ) and external stakeholders, providers and clients (legal, customers, contractors and suppliers).
