Background Summary:I am responsible for all public safety and security operations for the 55 libraries within the Free Library of Philadelphia system. My responsibilities extend into property management, life safety, and risk management. My background consists of 32 years of law enforcement experience. I am a seasoned police leader with extensive background in patrol, investigations, and tactical units. I have investigative experience with command experience in a multi-agency Narcotics Task Force charged with conducting complex investigations. I have served as a tactical paramedic accustomed to practicing in austere military and police settings.I have been specially selected for protective assignments for then-Senator Hillary Clinton during the 2008 Presidential campaign and Vice President Joseph Biden on several occasions. I led a ERT element during the 2013 Army-Navy Game, and supervised portions of the 2015 Papal protection detail.I have spoken at a number of professional conferences, such as those held by the Nat'l Collegiate EMS Foundation, Emergency Nurses Association, Int'l Law Enforcement Educators & Trainers Assoc., Int'l Assoc. of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors & the Nat'l Patrol Rifle conference. I have been a faculty member in the Military Emergency Medicine program of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences of the Department of Defense in courses MFP 201/202.
