Personal Agenda - My career follows a path of continuing study in the application of Information Theory to the dynamics of military decision-making. I complement this study with 20 years of service in the U.S. Army Infantry, Military Intelligence, and Acquisition Corps. Lately, I worked with DARPA and several large U.S.Army acquisition programs as a member of the Science Applications International Corporation involved in developing automated information fusion, data management, and problem solving technologies.My current interests concern the design and integration of alternative management constructs for dynamically and efficiently allocating Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance assets to informational activities. Tomorrow’s ISR management paradigms may include centralized, completely flat, or loosely federated alternatives. The challenge is to develop a framework of engineering principles and computing technologies that enable an enterprise of ISR resources and activities to select appropriate alternatives to enable a strategy that optimizes information value to its consumers.Lately I have been investigating the possibility of constructing large structures in space using light-weight modules launched by magnetic acceleration and self-assembled through computer programming. The goal is to establish "Lagrangian inns" at neutral gravity points to support deep space exploration. We must leave earth eventually.Along with work, I participate in rowing events with the Occoquan Boat Club, and I coach Little League baseball in the summer and fall. My family enjoys movies, volunteer work, travel, outdoor activities, and reading. The last book I read was Martin Rees "Our Cosmic Habit", a description of multiverse theories and the possibility of sets of laws uniquely governing the behavior of each of multiple universes, including the emergence of life.
