Copywriter And Content Manager
In August 2014 I joined UCAS Media’s brand new marketing team – at a time when the commercial arm of UCAS wanted to extend its engagement with youth audiences and diversify its products and services. As well as content creation across numerous on and offline channels, my work is now more strategic as I’m involved in the broader marketing process right from the campaign planning phase.Key Achievements:Creating ‘Digz’ – an online video series (parodying MTV’s popular ‘Cribs’ show) in which current undergrads showcase their student accommodation,Developing ‘Vine Your Future’ – a series of six-second Vine videos, promoted across different UCAS channels, created to encourage sign-ups and attendance at UCAS Events’ two biggest higher education conventions – ‘Compose Your Future’ and ‘Design Your Future’.

My side hustle freelance brand. Keeps evolving like a Pokemon.
Copywriter
Working within an in-house agency team, I was responsible for writing all of UCAS’ marketing materials – both print and digital – from sales collateral to email newsletters, banner ads to tweets, as well as convention guides, video scripts, direct mail, and print ads. The core of my role was creating engaging content for numerous audiences with an interest in higher education – pre-applicants, applicants, parents, advisers, commercial partners, and higher education institutions. I’ve also dabbled in internal comms, copyedited key sections of the new website, and served as editor-in-chief of the organization’s adviser magazine, Illume.
Copywriter
I was employed as an in-house copywriter for Bristol-based behavioural change consultancy, Brand Biology. Tasked with crafting case studies, concepting new DM campaigns and rewriting the company website. Also involved in scenario scripting, researching and writing white papers, and co-ordinating PR efforts.Specialtiescopywriting; advertising; marketing communications
Account Manager/Writer
Taking the PR lead on all of Renegade’s B2B PR clients, I looked after a number of international businesses operating across the marketing communications spectrum. These included ad agencies: Creature (based in Seattle and London), DMG (China’s leading independent ad agency and film production/distribution unit); Amsterdam Worldwide (Netherlands) and Perfect Fools (Netherlands and Sweden); media buying and planning agency, Arena Media; market research agency, Flamingo International; customer experience marketer, Epsilon International and the Internet Advertising Bureau UK. I have also worked with several brands directly – Under Armour, Converse, MINI – on a project basis in social media monitoring, blogger outreach, video seeding and content creation. Account Manager/Writer
I was a core member of a small PR team working across a varied portfolio of clients in the b2b arena including Henkel, AkzoNobel, Greenled Lighting, Bradfords Building Supplies and MMI Automotive. I directly managed an Account Executive, was regularly involved in new business pitches, co-ordinating advertising and newsletter briefs, in addition to media relations project handling, which involved a great deal of writing press release and feature articles according to client needs. I’m a strong advocate of new media, and consistently sourced new opportunities for both the company and its clients, both on and offline. I had a great working relationship with journalists in my client’s sectors, and successfully garnered increased coverage by organising face-to-face interviews, including co-ordinating a meeting with a key Daily Telegraph section editor.
Account Executive/Writer
My role was as a PR executive, working for a small, international Public Relations company that has a variety of construction and lifting equipment manufacturers as its major clients including: Manitowoc Crane Group, Brigade Electronics, Volvo Construction Equipment, Metso Minerals and Sandvik Tamrock. I was able to successfully sell the services of SE10 to Brigade’s marketing manager, successfully devised a name for a new product marcomms staff had difficulty branding – National Crane’s ENVI machine. In addition to traditional media relations work, it was due to my research, influence and persistence that SE10 is now offering podcasts as one of its services. I presented, directed and conducted interviews for audio and video podcasts at two major international trade shows. I also took personal holiday time from my current job to co-ordinate, direct and present a video podcast for Manitowoc Crane Group at this year’s CONEXPO trade show in Las Vegas.
